New Jersey Online Poker Reviews

Online poker launched in New Jersey on November 26, 2013. There were five unique networks at that time. The first New Jersey sites were Borgata/Partypoker, Ultimate Poker, 888, WSOP, and a few weeks later, Betfair. Ultimate Poker ceased operations. Betfair never caught on as a poker brand but remained as an online casino in New Jersey. 888 and WSOP merged player pools. Borgata and Partypoker are still partners.

Since then, two new online poker platforms have launched in New Jersey. PokerStars opened in the state in 2015. Pala Poker launched in 2017. WSOP/888, PokerStars, and Borgata/Partypoker have enough traffic to find games on a regular basis. Each offers an online poker bonus.

New Jersey poker sites require players to be at least 21 years old. Geolocation software must find players within state lines to sit at tables.

Online casinos are also licensed through Atlantic City resorts. Read more about that in our New Jersey online casino section.

Atlantic City Advantage stopped covering online poker. The information on this page may be dated.

New Jersey poker sites

There are four New Jersey online poker networks. The list of reviews below covers each one, including some skins that share player pools.

BetMGM Poker

BetMGM Poker is licensed through Borgata, its Atlantic City partner. The company also operates an online sportsbook and casino in New Jersey. Borgata and Partypoker are on the same network as BetMGM. Players may claim a deposit bonus at each, as long as they did not previously have an account on that site for casino or sports.

New BetMGM Poker players receive a 100% up to $1,000 first deposit bonus. Players also receive up to $75 in poker tournament entries. BetMGM offers a poker loyalty program and many daily tournaments with guaranteed prize pools.

Borgata Poker

Borgata Poker operates a site through its Atlantic City casino. It shares its player pool with BetMGM and Partypoker. New Borgata Poker players receive a 100% up to $1,000 first deposit bonus. Borgata Poker offers a VIP program called The Grind that rewards players for loyal play. There are many guaranteed poker tournaments, including the Sunday $215 no limit Hold’em that pays out at least $35,000 in prizes.

Partypoker

Partypoker shares player pools with Borgata Poker and BetMGM. The two sites have identical cash games, first deposit bonuses, and tournaments. Players may claim the first deposit bonus at each poker site on the network.

PokerStars

PokerStars is the leading name in online poker in the world. It deals the largest variety of cash games and tournaments in New Jersey. In January 2023, PokerStars merged its Michigan and New Jersey player pools.

New players may choose between $50 in tournament tickets or a 100% up to $600 first deposit bonus. PokerStars New Jersey offers daily guaranteed tournaments. The Sunday Majors lineup offers five guaranteed prize pools.

WSOP

WSOP.com is related to the World Series of Poker. Its New Jersey poker site shares player pools with WSOP in Nevada and the three Delaware Lottery sites. It is the only interstate player pool in the country.

The WSOP brand is best known for its major tournament series. Its poker site is operated by a different company. There is a 100% up to $1,000 first deposit bonus. It has a generous rakeback program in the software. There are daily guaranteed tournaments at WSOP. There are several WSOP bracelet events at the site.

We had tremendous issues with WSOP.com support and payouts. We recommend choosing a different New Jersey poker site. If you choose to play here, note all the support, software, and management issues at this site. When you run into a problem, you may be unable to resolve it.

888

888 is the provider of WSOP’s software. It operates many aspects of the site and shares player pools. 888 New Jersey offers a 100% up to $1,500 first deposit bonus. It has most of the tournaments found on WSOP. 888 manages WSOP.com, so we also do not recommend playing here. We feel that it is the worst option for New Jersey online poker in terms of support and payouts.

Pala Poker

Pala Poker is a small poker site. It specializes in freerolls. It offers players $25 incentives to join the site and help start games.
