Ocean Casino Resort

The design of Ocean Resort is unique. Guests that enter from the Boardwalk take a long escalator to the casino floor. Slots are the first gaming guests arriving from that direction will see. Table games are towards the rear of the casino.

There are several pits of table games at Ocean Resort in Atlantic City. The limits were surprisingly low during our visit.

Ocean Casino table games

Eight-deck blackjack was $10. The game hits soft 17, permits double down before and after splitting, late surrender, and re-splitting aces one time. Ocean Resort was the first Atlantic City casino with both re-split aces and surrender at blackjack. At $25, the game stands on all 17’s and uses six decks. For $100, it may be played in the high limit salon. Spanish 21 stands on all 17’s and is dealt for $10 or $15.

Craps starts at $10. It has 3-4-5 times odds. Double zero roulette was also $10 during our visit.

Poker table games start at $5. The options are Criss Cross Poker, Four Card Poker, Heads Up Hold’em, High Card Flush, Let it Ride, Mississippi Stud, Three Card Poker, and Ultimate Texas Hold’em. Baccarat, Face Up Pai Gow Poker and pai gow tiles were $15 during our visit in 2021.

There are two versions of video double zero roulette. Heads-up machines start at the nickel denomination and go up to a dollar. The multiplayer version starts at $3.

Ocean Resort video poker

Most video poker at Ocean Resort is in the high limit slots room or in a bank on the Boardwalk side of the casino. There is a large variety.

Our top pick for video poker at Ocean Resort in Atlantic City is the 9/6 Double Double Bonus Poker. We found it on many video poker machines in the casino. We also found 15/9 Deuces Wild for those that prefer wild card games. Other games on these $1, $2, and $5 denomination machines are 8/6 Jacks or Better, 8/6 Bonus Poker Deluxe, and 30/8/5 Bonus Poker. The quarter and half-dollar games have lower payouts.

Most video poker variants offer nickel, dime, and quarter denominations. The quarter denomination generally provided a better pay table than nickel and dime. However, we did not find any great pay tables among these machines. The options are Ultimate X, Ultimate X Bonus Streak, 3/5/10 play, Spin Poker, Super Times Pay, Double Super Times Pay, Triple Super Draw, Six Card Poker, Powerhouse Poker, Deal Draw, and Dream Card.

The Gallery sportsbook

The Gallery Bar, Book & Games is a 12,000-square-foot sportsbook. It features 140 feet of LED walls, an elevated gaming bar, and a lounge with blackjack and roulette tables. The bar serves drinks 24 hours a day. The sportsbook is also connected to the Balcony Bar.

At Ocean Casino, the betting window opens at noon Monday through Friday and at 10am on weekends. It closes at midnight Monday through Friday and is open an additional half-hour on weekends.

Cash deposits and withdrawals from The Sportsbook at Ocean Resort New Jersey sports betting app may be made here. Each $10 wagered earns one tier point when using a players card.

Ocean Rewards players club

Ocean Rewards has four tiers. Those are the entry-level Signature, Preferred after 3,000 tier points, Prime at 20,000 tier points, and Reserve. The Reserve tier is by invitation only. All tiers are based on play from July 1 through June 30.  A Veterans card is also available for Veterans and active US military members.

Ocean Rewards matches tiers for new players from select regional casinos. Perks include free slot play, participation in promotions, discounts at select restaurants and retail outlets, and hotel offers. Starting at Preferred, members receive complimentary self-parking. Prime and Reserve players may receive offers for Resorts World Las Vegas that include two or three nights of hotel and resort credits.
